A report in insuranceNEWS.com.au last week said the cargo ship Pacific Adventurer would be billed for spilling oil in Queensland’s Moreton Bay. A spokesman for the shipping company identified the ship’s insurer as the UK-based P&I Club.
A P&I insurer known as the UK Club has since contacted us to say it does not insure the ship. The ship’s agents have since identified the relevant insurer as the Standard P&I Club, which like the UK Club is based in London.
