Choice hails ANZ home and contents cover

Its investment and banking operations are under fire at the royal commission investigating misconduct within financial services, but ANZ’s general insurance arm has been named by consumer group Choice as the provider of the best home and contents policy.

Policies were rated on features offered, price and complaints, with the ANZ home insurance policy recording an overall score of 69%.

It won on features (66%) and had a complaints rating of 54%.

Allianz-owned TIO Insurance was second with an overall score of 64%. It scored 58% for features and 73% for complaints.

And IAG’s Adelaide-based SGIC Insurance was third with an overall score of 61%, a features score of 64% and 66% for complaints.

Suncorp’s Classic Advantages Cover and Westpac were in fourth and fifth place, both with overall scores of 59%.
