Commercial insurer CGU and the Tasmanian Fire Service have joined forces in a pre-emptive campaign promoting bushfire safety during the upcoming season.

The information campaign, launched this week, includes a DVD mailed to 50,000 Tasmanian homes in regions of high bushfire risk.

The campaign follows last year’s loss of 26 properties and 126,000 hectares of land to bushfires – one of the state’s worst seasons in recent decades.
