Car theft council enhances buyer rating guide
The National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council has added ANCAP safety ratings to its risk rating system, so car buyers can make more informed decisions.
The ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program) safety ratings use data from simulated crashes of new vehicles.
Since 2014 the council has released its biannual Comprehensive Auto-theft Research System (CARS) security ratings alongside Monash University’s Used Car Safety Ratings system. Both use a five-star scoring system.
