Work is under way to set up a body to administer a new code of practice for auto part recyclers. The aim is to reduce the likelihood of businesses inadvertently dealing in stolen vehicle parts.

A final model participation agreement has been distributed to 1900 recycling-related businesses across the country.

The National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council has appointed Nick Koerbin as interim director for the code.
