Cambridge beats CGU to key WorkCover contract

Claims management provider Cambridge has replaced CGU to manage workers’ compensation for 1400 staff of the Victorian WorkCover Authority (VWA).

The VWA contracts six “agents” to manage claims: Cambridge, Allianz, CGU, Gallagher Bassett, GIO and QBE.

Cambridge CEO Paul Serong told insuranceNEWS.com.au he’s pleased to win the contract ahead of major insurers.

“The VWA is the most sophisticated buyer in the market,” he said. “They manage all the agents and know how we all perform on about 25 different metrics, so you can’t get a better endorsement.”
