Budget: Scoping study for Defence Service Homes Insurance
The Federal Government will commission an insurance industry expert to undertake a scoping study on the future of the Defence Services Homes Insurance Scheme (DSHIS).
“The scoping study will inform the Government on options for more efficient DSHIS operations,” the Budget papers say.
Treasury has allocated $200,000 for the work.
The Audit Commission recommended the scheme should be abolished, as part of reducing the role of government.
