This year’s National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) Convention, which will be held at the Gold Coast from Saturday to next Tuesday, will deal with issues affecting the industry and how it can explore new opportunities.

NIBA CEO Noel Pettersen told Sunrise Exchange News the Convention’s theme, The Big Picture, looks at where the industry is headed and ways in which it can advance.

“The seminars at this year’s convention will look at the challenges still facing the industry, and ways in which brokers can move forward to expand their businesses and meet the needs of consumers.”

Mr Pettersen says several new initiatives will be launched at the Convention, including the general insurance broker code and a national marketing campaign promoting brokers.

“These initiatives play a large part in promoting what brokers do, and the professional and invaluable services they provide to businesses and individuals,” he said.
