Brokers nut-out key issues
The cost of Financial Services Reform Act (FSRA) compliance and the brokers’ code of practice have been big discussion points at the first two meetings in the National Insurance Brokers Association's (NIBA) annual Sundowners – a roadshow which forms a vital part of the association’s communications strategy.
NIBA CEO Noel Pettersen told Sunrise Exchange News brokers at the first meetings, in Perth and Adelaide, have clear ideas on which parts of the FSRA need to be changed to make the legislation effective.
“They want to make sure the FSRA isn’t overly onerous and costly, while still ensuring the legislation has real value for consumers,” he said.
He says NIBA representatives will soon meet with Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer Chris Pearce, to work on making aspects of the legislation “more user-friendly”.
The next Sundowners sessions will be held tonight in Launceston. Other sessions this week will be held in Hobart tomorrow night, and Melbourne on Thursday.
