Brokers, agents show keen interest in NIBA plans
NIBA President David Harris and CEO Noel Pettersen have completed their first part of their national tour expressing delight at the interest being shown in plans to expand the association’s membership base.
In the last fortnight the two men visited Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, Townsville and Brisbane, explaining to members and their non-member guests the implications of the Financial Services Reforms and the need to change the NIBA constitution to include agents, underwriting agents and non-NIBA brokers as members.
“There’s a very good spirit of understanding and enthusiasm with intermediaries across the country,” Mr Pettersen said. “NIBA members are very well informed about the legislation and understand the challenges and opportunities we face in the future.”
The tour of other major Australian centres will resume later this month.
