Broker leader Robert Owen dies
One of Australia’s best-known brokers, Robert Owen, died on Sunday after a long battle with cancer. Mr Owen, one of the founders of NIBA and its third president, had been scheduled to address the NIBA Convention in Adelaide on the day he died.
NIBA CEO Noel Pettersen told the convention yesterday that Mr Owen was a leader, an innovator and “an icon of the industry”.
He became known to younger generations of brokers and other industry professionals through his work in visionary leadership programs. Tributes to Mr Owen will be reported in the next issue of Insurance & Risk Professional.
