Brian Gray scholarships awarded

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has announced the recipients of its annual Brian Gray scholarships.

Scholarships valued at $12,500 each have been awarded to Australian National University graduates Vinko Matic (Honours in Actuarial Sciences), Aiden Hallet (Honours in Actuarial Sciences and Finance), Matthew Pollard (Honours in Philosophy and Science), and University of Melbourne graduate Jaan Simpson (Honours in Actuarial Sciences, Commerce and Linguistics).

Under this year's program, recipients will conduct research in one of four areas of study: statistical models in bond and options pricing, the effect of rumours and private information on equity markets, the effect of a pandemic on the life insurance industry and a time renewal risk model.

The Brian Gray scholarship was established by APRA in 2002 in memory of its late head of policy research and consulting.
