The industry awards season has officially begun. Nominations for the Australia and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards have opened for 2006.

The awards, which will be presented at the Sydney Hilton on July 24, are hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance in partnership with Asia Insurance Review.

The 12 award categories range from the General Insurance Company of the Year to Insurance Personality of the Year.

Unlike other industry awards, potential nominees can nominate themselves for the awards. Nominations from third parties are also accepted.

The awards will be judged by a 14-member panel then independently audited by Deloitte.
