The Federal Government has extended its provision for war-risk insurance for Australian airlines and airports until the end of the month. The cover became necessary following the global withdrawal of third-party risk cover by insurance companies responding to the September 11 terrorist attacks. The extension, announced on Thursday, continues the Government’s cover of third-party war indemnity cover for all Australian aviation carriers.
