Aussie educators take China by storm
A five-day tour of China showcasing Australian excellence in finance education and training has been rated a big success. NIBA Professional Development Executive Linda Evans and ANZIIF CEO Joan Fitzpatrick were both on the tour.
The program was an initiative of AXISS Australia, the Federal Government agency charged with positioning Australia as a global financial services centre.
Audiences, including more than 200 representatives from the Chinese Government, were eager to hear about Australia’s experience in reforming its financial services sector.
Mission leader and AXISS Australia CEO Les Hosking said the timing of the mission also contributed to its success. “Both government and industry in China recognise the need to upgrade their skills if the country’s financial sector is to continue to develop, expand and meet the challenges presented by joining the World Trade Organisation and competing in a global marketplace,” he said.
