The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) says Assistant Treasurer Michael Sukkar will deliver a keynote address at next week’s Annual Forum.

ICA President Sue Houghton, who is also QBE Australia and Pacific CEO, will provide an update at the October 13 event.

ICA says the virtual forum, Insurance in Uncertain Times, will hear updates from Australian Prudential Regulation Authority Deputy Chairman Helen Rowell and Australian Securities and Investments Commission Deputy Chairman and Commissioner Karen Chester.

There will be a commercial lines strategic review panel comprising of John Trowbridge and other industry executives.

The forum will also feature insights from domestic and international specialists from insurers, regulators, governments and agencies on topics including cyber risk, natural perils and insurance catastrophes.

Climate, modern slavery and environmental, social and governance, or ESG, will be discussed too during the one-day forum.

The annual forum was last held in February 2019 as last year’s event was cancelled because of the pandemic.
