ANZIIF industry award finalists named

Finalists for the Australia and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards have been announced, with brokers and underwriting agencies vying for new titles.

The awards, run by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, will be held in Sydney on July 30. The sixth year of the event features new categories recognising small and medium brokers and underwriting agencies.

The finalists are:

General Insurance Company of the Year: Allianz, QBE, Vero NZ.
Innovation of the Year: McLarens Young International NZ, Venturis.
Insurance Leader of the Year: Frank O’Halloran, QBE; Peter Nash, Sportscover; Simon Swanson, formerly of CommInsure.
Large Broker of the Year: Aon, Crombie Lockwood (NZ), Marsh.
Law Firm/Practitioner of the Year: DLA Phillips Fox, Minter Ellison, Moray & Agnew.
Life Insurance Company of the Year: AMP, CommInsure, MLC.
Loss Adjuster of the Year: Cunningham Lindsey, McLarens Young.
Reinsurance Company of the Year: Munich Re, Reinsurance Group of America
Risk Manager/Team of the Year: Guild, Paul Hurrell, IAG NZ, Santos.
Service Provider to the Insurance Industry: Finity, Gallagher Bassett, Recoveries.
Services to the Community Award: AAMI, AMI, Ansvar Insurance, Aon.
Small and Medium Broker of the Year: ANCA Insurance Brokers, SBA, Trafalgar Insurance Brokers.
Treasurer’s Award for Good Governance and Practice: Guild, QBE, Zurich.
Underwriting Agency of the Year: Accident & Health International, Dual, Sportscover.
