ANZIIF announces new board

The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance's (ANZIIF) new board contains a mixture of "new blood and experience", according to CEO Joan Fitzpatrick.

The institute's new directors are both lawyers. Pam Madafiglio is a partner at Minter Ellison in Sydney, and joins as Presidents' Council representative. Peter Leman is a partner at DLA Phillips Fox in Wellington and joins as NZ representative.

Retired broker John Richardson has returned to serve a second term as ANZIIF President. ANZIIF says he continues to work for Marsh in an advisory role.

New CGU CEO Duncan West is Deputy President, while former IAG Deputy CEO Ian Brown - who like Mr Richardson retired several years ago - is Immediate Past President.

Other industry representatives are David Bidmead (Marsh), Detloff Rump (American International Assurance), Tony Morgan (GAB Robins), Heinrich Eder (Munich Re), and Kerrie Challenor (Lumley).

Despite having recently departed the insurance industry, former CGU CEO Mario Pirone - who now works with a private company named Sky Capital - will also serve on the committee, alongside his successor, Mr West.
