Allianz Global Risks will cover the costs resulting from the fire at the Moomba gas plant in outback South Australia on New Year’s Day this year.

Santos, the major owner of the plant, says Allianz has completed its assessment and will finalise the property and business interruption claim.

Although it’s not known how much the claim is for, Santos expects $25-30 million will be stripped from its profit this year and cashflow will be down $35-40 million.
