Angie Zissis, the new head of AUB’s Austbrokers Insurance Member Services (AIMS), has joined the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) board.

Mr Zissis takes over as the AIMS representative from Glenn Shultz, who led the organisation when it was part of a joint venture with Insurance Brokers Network of Australia (IBNA).

IBNA members last month accepted a takeover offer from Steadfast, where Mr Schultz has taken a position.

Mr Zissis, also CEO of AUB’s Sura underwriting agency business and Group Head of Underwriting and Placement, joins NIBA as it addresses royal commission recommendations and other insurance reforms.

“The organisation is an important representative voice for brokers, and it plays a significant role in shaping the direction of our industry in Australia,” Mr Zissis said.

“I believe my experience in broking, underwriting and senior leadership over the past 30 years will enable me to make a positive contribution.”
