Adler set for High Court

Former FAI chief and HIH director Rodney Adler plans to appeal to the High Court following the failure of his application to the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal.

This will be his last chance to head off a series of five criminal charges relating to the Pacific Eagle Equities affair in 2000. His proposed trial date is February 7 next year.

Mr Adler has already been disqualified from acting as a director for 20 years and has been ordered to pay more than $7 million in fines and compensation. He is appealing  against the charges on the grounds that he has been punished enough.
