Adler caught breaking the rules again
Jailed former FAI CEO Rodney Adler has once again been disciplined for breaking the rules in prison. This time he’s been misusing the phone in order to speak to business associates.
It’s not the first time the former high-flyer has been caught breaking the rules. Earlier this year Mr Adler – who is serving a minimum two-and-a-half-year prison sentence for his part in the collapse of HIH – was caught doing business deals on the side despite being banned from running a company. For that offence he was transferred from Kirkconnell prison farm to Bathurst prison.
In prison Mr Adler can only dial six telephone numbers that have been approved by prison authorities. But it has been reported that last month he arranged to have some of those numbers redirected to business associates.
The NSW Correctional Services Department says Mr Adler’s punishment for breaking the rules last month was to be confined to his cell for three days.
