Actuary of the year, actually
IAG Chief Risk Officer and Group Actuary Tony Coleman has been named Actuary of the Year 2004 for his achievements in risk management, corporate governance and climate change.
Institute of Actuaries of Australia President Graham Rogers says Mr Coleman won the award for his work in the general insurance industry and the financial services sector.
Mr Coleman has been instrumental in setting up the Australian Climate Group which is promoting better community understanding of global warming and climate change.
He is Vice President of the Financial Risks Committee of the International Actuarial Association (IAA) and a member of the IAA Insurer Insolvency Subcommittee. He was recently appointed as the only Australian representative of the International Accounting Standards Board’s Insurance Working Group.
