Underwriting agency Accident & Health International has switched from Gerling, which has gone into run-off in Australia. But it’s staying with the Germans, with Allianz Australia replacing Gerling as the underwriting agency’s new underwriter.

Accident & Health International CEO David Epper said Gerling has been a “strong and reliable business partner” over the years. But Gerling’s departure from the Australian market meant a new underwriter was needed.

All existing policies held with Gerling will be honoured, along with any claims settlement. “For brokers and clients, business will continue as usual,” Mr Epper said.
