AAMI goes national with move west
Suncorp brand AAMI has launched in WA in an attempt to gain a foothold in the state’s direct personal lines market, which is dominated by two insurers.
EGM Anthony Durakovic says with more than 2.7 million customers around the country, AAMI decided it was the right time to expand into WA and create a “truly national insurance brand”.
He says its arrival will also bring a sense of competition to WA’s insurance market, where RAC-WA and SGIO dominate.
“WA has long been dominated by two major players, and we believe the arrival of one of the nation’s largest brands will lead to a level of competition in the insurance market not seen before in WA,” Mr Durakovic said.
