AAMI chief Kay latest to quit Suncorp

The ranks of former Promina executives at Suncorp have again thinned, with the head of AAMI stepping down "by mutual agreement".

Michael Kay, who has led the former Promina division since October last year, is the latest executive to leave the merged group.

Mr Kay, a Promina employee of 14 years, follows AAMI CFO Simon Fortune and Promina actuary Brett Ward in parting ways with Suncorp.

Mr Fortune's departure was tied to personal reasons, and no reason was given for Mr Ward's resignation.

Earlier this year Suncorp surprised the industry by passing over ex-Promina executives and heavily weighting the senior management team with Suncorp executives, who took up six of the 10 senior positions.

The 10-strong team overseeing Suncorp's commercial insurance business has only two former Vero managers - John Nagle and Denise Bofill.
