… and ‘mutiny’ sailor gets his claim paid
NZ yachtsman Bill Heritage, whose claim for the loss of his boat in a crew “mutiny” was initially refused by AMP, will now have the claim paid.
Mr Heritage lost his boat last month when his crew on a voyage from Auckland to Nelson allegedly panicked and set off a rescue beacon. He was forced to join them on a rescue helicopter.
Mr Heritage told insuranceNEWS.com.au today AMP “has reversed its earlier decision and accepted the claims for my yacht and the personal possessions lost with it”.
