Zurich waives life premiums for bushfire victims

Zurich will waive two months’ of life insurance premiums for customers affected by the recent bushfires in NSW and Queensland. The offer will remain open until the end of November.

No application will be needed to put the waiver into effect, and it can be arranged over the phone. More than 16 postcodes fall under the waiver.

The number of customers affected by the fires may expand as more areas come under threat.

Tim Howell, Zurich Life and Investments Head of Propositions, says that with the damage to homes and livelihoods expected to be into the hundreds, “Zurich appreciates that impact extends further than just a loss of assets”.

“While waiving their life insurance premiums will not bring back what has been lost, we hope it eases some of the financial burden they are facing as the rebuilding begins.”
