Antony Vriens has been appointed Zurich head of health services for Australia and New Zealand.

He will lead the delivery of health services across Zurich’s retail and group life segments, aiming to support physical, mental, financial and social wellbeing.

Sydney-based Dr Vriens was most recently Manulife Asia VP and head of insurance technical services. He previously held senior positions at Suncorp, including chief medical officer, head of claims and GM of its New Zealand retail life business.

“I am delighted to be leading Zurich’s health services team, which ... plays an important role in driving Zurich’s continued momentum across prevention and resilience,” Dr Vriens said.

He starts the job on November 11.
