Zurich Financial Services Australia has appointed Peter Mitchell as National Sales Manager for life insurance.

He joins from fund manager State Street, where he was MD and head of relationship management.

In that role, he sat on the Australian and Asian executive committees and had oversight of sales, consultant activities and client services across institutional and retail distribution channels.

He will report to Zurich Head of Distribution Life and Investments Kristine Brooks.

“Mr Mitchell brings to our business a wealth of skills and knowledge across business development, service and relationship management,” Ms Brooks said.

“He joins at a time when we’re reshaping our business into a market leader, with product and service greatly enhanced since our acquisition of Macquarie Life last October.”

Zurich’s national retail life sales team of 33 people will report to Mr Mitchell.
