Collaborating with medical practitioners is the key to successful outcomes for mental health claims, says Macquarie Life Head of Underwriting and Claims Sally Phillips.

“We do need to obtain the right information from the doctor to process the claim,” she told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“It is not a simple disease and the process has to look at a number of areas such as the claimant’s social situation.

Dr Phillips will be speaking on the topic at the Financial Services Council (FSC) Life Insurance Conference in Sydney on March 21.

The conference is being held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour on from 8.45am till 5pm.
