Honor Grant-Hennessy, the Senior Group Underwriter at OnePath Life/Zurich, has been awarded this year’s ALUCA TurksLegal Scholarship.

The prize, now in its 14th year, was announced at a virtual awards ceremony.

Ms Grant-Hennessy’s paper, Responding in Times of Emergency, looked at how life insurers and superannuation trustees can positively change how they interact with their customers during times of social and economic interruption. It was praised as “heartfelt with a calm pragmatic voice” and was “impossible to ignore”.

She wins an overseas conference package valued up to $8000, though if travel restrictions are still in place when her chosen conference is scheduled the prize may be awarded as cash.

Ms Grant-Hennessy will also be invited to sit on the judging panel for next year’s scholarship, and receive automatic membership to the Australasian Life Underwriting and Claims Association (ALUCA) as well as specialist insurance law firm TurksLegal’s scholarship alumni program.

The 2021 ALUCA Turks Scholarship will open in July.
