Volunteers join FPA advice campaign
The Financial Planning Association has received a strong response from volunteers for its Ask an Expert service.
About 30 advisers have agreed to answer questions posted online, with the number likely to reach 50 to 60, CEO Mark Rantall says.
Ask an Expert received about 10,000 hits and answered 600 questions last year.
The service provides a non-threatening opportunity for people to seek financial information, Mr Rantall told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
“We are finding that it is a very safe environment for consumers to come and ask questions they have always wanted to ask.”
The service will be launched in Financial Planning Week – from August 26 – and run until October. Experts are assigned questions and asked to respond within three working days.
Many people who use the service will later seek more detailed personal advice, Mr Rantall says.
