Vamos takes up ASFA post
Former insurance broker and financial services regulation expert Pauline Vamos will be the new CEO of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA).
Ms Vamos, who succeeds Phillippa Smith, was one of the industry experts employed by ASIC to provide regulatory detail to fit the framework of the Financial Services Reform Act.
A former broker, she left ASIC soon after the Act was put into effect and became an adviser to other countries planning their own financial services regulatory programs.
ASFA President Rosemary Vilgam says Ms Vamos has spent the past three years consulting to the financial services industry in relation to compliance, risk management and regulatory issues.
“Pauline also has strong experience gained from various board and committee positions, including superannuation trustee directorships.”
