TAL secures tech deal with Microsoft

TAL has signed a three-year agreement with Microsoft that extends its access to the tech giant’s artificial intelligence and other new digital tools.

The deal builds on the two organisations’ longstanding ties and “expands TAL’s ability to harness generative AI to enhance customer and employee experiences”, they say in a joint statement.

TAL chief information officer Hinesh Chauhan said: “This agreement demonstrates how TAL is adopting technology to lead on digital in the life insurance sector. The partnership approach allows us to benefit from Microsoft’s leading AI technologies like Copilot for Microsoft 365, while also collaborating closely to develop our own solutions for our customers, partners and employees.”

The life insurer says with the addition of Azure OpenAI, its engineering team is developing use cases across its business to safely deliver benefits at scale.
