TAL has announced new executive leadership appointments within its Group Life & Retirement business, Individual Life business, and Technology. 

Chief Claims Officer Jenny Oliver is now Chief Executive Group Life & Retirement. She will lead the insurer’s partnerships with the superannuation community and oversee the development of retirement solutions. 

TAL will undertake a recruitment process to fill Ms Oliver’s old role and in the interim, she will continue to provide executive oversight for the insurer’s claims function. 

Chief Information & Innovation Officer Fiona Macgregor replaces Tim Thorne as Chief Commercial Officer Individual Life. Mr Thorne, who has been with TAL for a decade, has decided to retire from his executive career and pursue a non-executive portfolio. 

TAL says the Individual Life business under Ms Macgregor will focus on “industry leadership” in outcomes for customers, partnerships with financial advisers and strategic alliance partners, and providing Australians with access to life insurance solutions through their channel of choice. 

Her appointment will also see an emphasis on digital enablement and delivery to meet the needs and expectations of customers and partners. 

EGM Technology Hinesh Chauhan has been promoted to Chief Information Officer with responsibility for the company’s technology function. 

He remains focused on working with TAL’s technology partners to support business operations, meet rising information and cyber security expectations, and to improve the way TAL supports its customers and partners through both existing and new technologies, such as generative artificial intelligence.
