TAL has been named as the Association of Financial Advisers' life company of the year.

The runners-up were OnePath and BT Financial Group.

Research for the awards was undertaken by Plan For Life and includes both qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Asteron won the service quality award while TAL also took out the term and total and permanent disability award.

OnePath won the trauma category while CommInsure was the winner in the income protection award.

Risk product innovation was won by MLC with its Riskfirst Rapid initiative.

AFA CEO Brad Fox says the results shows those Australian who do have insurance are well protected.

“The incredibly thorough awards process we follow ensures that these awards represent the premier life company awards in Australia,” Mr Fox said.

“It’s from this position that we can confirm with confidence that Australian life companies are indeed committed to delivering excellent service and product solutions for Australians.”
