TAL appoints new direct business chief, CFO
TAL has appointed John Hoyle as CEO of its direct distribution channel InsuranceLine.
Mr Hoyle joins TAL from Chartis Direct in Europe, where he was CEO for more than five years.
Before joining Chartis, Mr Hoyle held senior sales and marketing roles at Axa Sun Life, IMS Health and Barclays Bank.
TAL MD Jim Minto believes consumer involvement in life insurance will increase.
“We expect consumers to continue to demand more value and [to] challenge existing industry models,” he said.
“This as an inevitable evolution of the life insurance market and we want to apply leading expertise from other countries and markets to help us deliver customer value and to win business from people who choose to transact directly.”
TAL has also appointed Kent Griffin as CFO.
He was previously an Ernst & Young partner and Head of Actuarial and Financial Services Risk Management Advisory in Melbourne.
Before Ernst & Young Mr Griffin spent nine years at Axa where he held several senior positions, including Regional CFO for Axa Asia.
