Synchron has appointed former CommInsure senior executive Ian Knight as GM Operations.

Founder and co-director Don Trapnell says the change will allow him to step back from day-to-day involvement in the business and focus on his responsibilities as a director.

“After more than 20 years at the helm, I have great pleasure in handing over the daily operation of Synchron to Ian,” Mr Trapnell said.

Mr Knight has more than 15 years of financial services experience, most recently heading distribution at CommInsure, where he also managed the Victorian/Tasmanian retail sales team. He previously held roles at Axa and the Bank of Melbourne and spent two decades with Victoria Police, where he became a detective senior sergeant.

Synchron also promoted Michael Jones to the new role of GM, Legal and Compliance while Alison Massey was promoted to Head of Compliance – Advice Assurance, reporting to Mr Jones.

Synchron is recruiting for a fourth new role – Head of Compliance, Policy and Regulatory – which will also report to Mr Jones.
