Super trustees given a helping hand
And with super trustees also affected by legislative and market changes, the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees released the fourth edition of its Trustee Handbook in Sydney last week.
Designed to be a “one-stop shop” for trustees the book covers topics ranging from compliance, tax and insurance right down to conducting meetings and fund reviews. AIST President Susan Ryan said the role of super trustees is growing more challenging with super now seen as the key to Australian’s wealth creation.
Superannuation trustees are responsible legally for the welfare of fund members. Ms Ryan said this new handbook provides trustees with answers to all their questions in the one reference.
