Super dispute conciliations on the rise
The Superannuation Complaints Tribunal’s (SCT) quarterly report has revealed a strong growth in its conciliation figures. And for the first time the number of conciliations held matched the number of determination hearings.
The SCT dealt with 567 new cases, and of the 55 disputes that made it to conciliation hearings, 28 were settled, 11 were unresolved and 16 outcomes were pending.
Issues relating to disability benefits topped the list making up almost 24% of the complaints. This was closely followed by complaints relating to administration, death benefits, account benefits and fees.
At the end of December 895 matters remained unsolved.
