Super assets up 3.5%
Australian superannuation assets lifted 3.5% to $1.1 trillion in the year to March 31 despite a $74.9 billion dip for the quarter, according to APRA.
The regulator’s latest quarterly superannuation figures reveal retail funds account for 38.9%, or $7.1 billion, of the total, followed by industry funds at 29.2% ($5.3 billion), public sector funds at 27.2% ($5 billion), and corporate funds at 4.7% ($868 million).
Superannuation funds achieved an overall 7.7% return on assets during the quarter.
