‘Sluggish economy’ fuels life claims in super
The rising number of claims for life insurance held in super could be partly driven by a sluggish economy, according to TurksLegal partner Alph Edwards.
He told the recent Financial Services Council Life Insurance Conference in Sydney there has been an unprecedented increase.
Consumers are also now more aware they have cover, and there are more specialist super lawyers available.
Mr Edwards says insurance in super will always remain a target for disputed claims due to the sums involved.
