Sherry slams industry over lengthy disclosure
Superannuation Minister Nick Sherry has attacked the financial services industry saying it has failed to simplify disclosure documents for consumers.
Speaking at a summit on financial literacy in Sydney, Senator Sherry said lengthy product disclosure statements make it difficult for even the most knowledgeable consumers to chart a sensible path.
He says people cannot be expected to expand their financial literacy if they have to wade through pages of legalese and jargon.
