PPS Mutual drops medical evidence burden

PPS Mutual has dropped a mandatory medical evidence requirement, simplifying the application process for its members who are on Income Protection benefits and want to add or increase their Life, Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) or Trauma cover.

The offer, which is available until mid 2022, aims to help time poor professionals apply for these insurance products.

“Reducing the time and effort of providing mandatory medical evidence is part of our mission to remove ‘underwriting friction’ where possible and optimise our members’ experiences,” Head of Underwriting and Claims Management Marcello Bertasso said.

The offer enables members to receive a Life and TPD cover benefits of up to $3 million and Trauma cover up to $1.5 million. Amounts in excess of these maximums would be subject to a full application and underwriting.
