Planners ready to make change on education: FPA
Financial Planning Association (FPA) members are ready to begin implementing forthcoming legislative changes, CEO Dante De Gori says.
Speaking after the last of the association’s national roadshow events, he said after much uncertainty over the changes, members now have a more positive approach.
“The forthcoming education and professional standards legislation, and the proposals submitted to the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) by the FPA, were a key area of focus at the roadshows,” he said.
“Out of… 843 respondents who took part in live polling, 84% of delegates agreed or strongly agreed with the FPA-proposed 100-point framework.”
Mr De Gori says FASEA will start establishing details of the new professional standards and education framework this month.
“We look forward to working with FASEA closely over the coming months, as we will, of course, be supporting members through the transition period in every way we can.”
The FPA’s next major event is the Professionals Congress in Hobart from November 22-24.
