Planners’ association scrutinises members
Scrutiny over the practices of financial planners is set to tighten, with the Financial Planning Association (FPA) announcing it will establish a new conduct review group.
Based on what it says is the knowledge that most complaints to the Financial Industry Complaints Service are aimed at financial planners, the FPA says the body will respond to concerns raised against planners.
The FPA says the body will improve professionalism, education and training in the industry.
Professionalism GM Deen Sanders told a conference of Association of Financial Services Educators in Sydney last week the new review commission will begin immediately and report independently to the FPA.
