PIS brings in legacy claims manager
Professional Investment Services (PIS) has appointed Scott Harvey to oversee all insurance claims and deal with legacy issues from the company’s previous owner.
Mr Harvey has previously held senior compliance roles at Westpac and Commonwealth Bank.
“Prior to working in the banking sector, Mr Harvey had extensive experience in the area of forensic investigation and securities,” PIS CEO Peter Walther said.
“He has also spent 12 years as an Australian Federal Police detective, including a two-year secondment to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, and has worked in London for the Financial Services Authority.”
Mr Harvey, a certified practising accountant, will work closely with PIS clients “to ensure effective co-operation and sustainable claim outcomes… he will also be responsible for the efficient resolution of a number of legacy issues given rise to under former management of the company”.
The dealer group’s owner, Centrepoint Alliance, says as of June 30, $22 million has been allowed for current and future client claims against advisers.
PIS has also appointed former CUA Financial Planning national manager advice Peter Coombes as Manager Client Strategies and Solutions.
Mr Walther says the new appointments will drive “significant change throughout [the] business and network”.
“The intense change process our business has undergone in the past year has radically improved the skill sets and service culture of the organisation,” he said.
