Peak body launches adviser lobby program
Financial Advice Association Australia has urged members to join an initiative to increase the profession’s engagement with politicians ahead of this year’s federal election.
It says the Advice Ambassadors program will help self-nominating members meet with politicians, explain the value of financial advice and discuss much-needed regulatory reforms.
“We’re asking for members to help our profession put our best foot forward with the new parliament that will soon be formed, engaging with government, opposition and the crossbench to showcase the fantastic work financial planners do to help ... Australians achieve their best financial futures,” CEO Sarah Abood said.
“These … ambassadors will meet with politicians to keep them abreast of the issues in the financial advice industry. We also want them to explain the benefits of financial advice to everyday Australians, to help them overcome cost-of-living pressures and to build wealth.”
