Canstar has awarded its “outstanding value” rating to OnePath’s business partner and key person insurance for the third consecutive year.

MLC has also secured five stars for its business partner insurance, and Zurich takes the top rating for its key person cover.

Asteron and ClearView have received five-star ratings for their business expenses products.

Research house Canstar assessed prices and features on 31 business life insurance products from 13 insurers.

“The eye-opener is the difference in premium and policy features between providers across all three business life insurance [categories],” Research Manager Mitchell Watson said.

“It’s important to balance price and features to arrive at a policy that represents outstanding value for your needs.”

Canstar assessed annual premiums using a vehicle mechanic and an engineer as examples of blue and white-collar professions.

It says blue-collar male workers can pay annual premiums of $115-$265 for business expenses cover. A female blue-collar worker will pay $170-$396.

For the same insurance, a male white-collar worker will pay $49-$277, while a woman would be charged $70-$412.
